Erasmus Call for MSc and PhD

Students of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM)

General information and eligibility criteria

•  This is a mobility scholarship in the context of Erasmus+ program between Lund University (Sweden) and FUM  for one PhD student and one Master student.
•  The student has to be registered at Engineering Faculty at FUM.
•  Priority is given to students in Civil  Engineering department.
  •  The mobility duration is 3 months for M.Sc. student and 5 months for PhD student to stay in  Department of Technology and Society, Faculty of Engineering (LTH) at Lund University.
  •  The mobility period is counted as part of the student’s study program at FUM.
  •  The living costs (~900 € per month including travel cost) will be paid by Erasmus fund.
  •  The research topics include:

1. o Remote Sensing (time series analysis of Earth Observation satellite data)
2. o InSAR processing
3. o Spatio-temporal analysis in transportation and environmental problems
4. o Change detection (e.g., spatial changes in transportation infrastructure, etc.),
5. o Flood and fire mapping using satellite data
6. o Indoor positioning
7. o Geospatial Information Systems
8. o WebGIS programing
9. o Intelligent Geospatial Information System
10. o Demand detection in public transport
11. o Deep learning (in transportation, satellite image processing)

•  Curriculum Vitae (CV)
•  Research Plan
  •  English language evidence (IELTS≥5.5, TOEFL≥46). National tests of English language skills (MSRT≥ 60, MCHE≥ 60) may also be considered.
  •  Scanned copy of the first page of passport (for selected candidates)

Time Table

•  4-10 Jan. 2021: Send your documents to Dr. Etemadfard via email:  (the subject of your email should be “Erasmus for MSc Student” or “Erasmus for PhD Student”).
•  15-30 Jan. 2021: First round of selection at Ferdowsi University
  •  5 Feb. 2021: The candidates selected at the first round will get informed (three PhD candidates and three candidates for the master position).
  •  10-30 Feb. 2021: Candidate evaluation at Lund University (CV, interview, research plan, English language test etc.).
    •  5 Mar. 2021: The final decision made and the selected students (one PhD and one master) will be informed.
    •  15 Aug. 2021: Mobility studies starts at Lund University
